Pros of buying a 1957-1959 Chevy radio, applicable to Ward models and 1956 GMC 59, 57, 1958:

1. Vintage appeal: These classic radios are known for their distinctive design and timeless style, which can add a unique touch to any vintage car or home decor.

2. Functionality: Many of these vintage radios still work and can provide a nostalgic listening experience, especially with vintage records or tapes.

3. Collectible value: These radios can be a valuable investment for collectors, as they are becoming increasingly sought-after and can increase in value over time.

4. Durability: These radios were built to last, with high-quality materials and craftsmanship, which means they can be relied upon for years to come.

Cons of buying a 1957-1959 Chevy radio, applicable to Ward models and 1956 GMC 59, 57, 1958:

1. Limited functionality: While these radios can still work, they may not have the same features as modern radios, such as FM radio, digital displays, or Bluetooth connectivity.

2. Repair and maintenance: Finding replacement parts or repairing vintage radios can be challenging and expensive, as they are not mass-produced anymore.

3. Power source: These radios require electricity to function, which means they may not work in vehicles without a power source, such as classic cars without a functioning electrical system.

4. Safety concerns: Older radios may not meet modern safety standards, and could pose a risk if they are not properly maintained or stored.

Conclusion:

While buying a 1957-1959 Chevy radio can be a rewarding experience, it is important to consider the pros and cons carefully before making a purchase. If the vintage appeal and potential collectible value are worth the investment, then a classic radio can be a great addition to any vintage car or home decor. However, if functionality and ease of use are more important, then a modern radio may be a better option.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in purchasing a classic radio, it is recommended to research the specific model and manufacturer to ensure that it meets your needs and preferences. Look for a reputable seller who can provide information about the radio's condition, any necessary repairs, and any necessary replacement parts. It is also important to consider the potential cost of repairs and maintenance before making a purchase. Overall, a classic radio can be a fun and unique addition to any vintage car or home decor, but it is important to approach the purchase with a realistic understanding of its pros and cons.

Details:

Again this came from a 1958 Chevy truck. Speaker is built in to radio and it custom fits in dash.

Anyway this one looks to be in pretty good shape. Should fit Chevy Gmc trucks and suburbans plus the truck was in pretty good shape and was under cover a lot. Here is a radio taken from a 1958 Chevy truck.

Knobs work and again not any rust to speak of. I have taken a lot of radios from trucks and have not had one yet that did not work.
