Pros of buying a 1962 Plymouth Valiant with a Radio Motorola tube radio:

1. Authenticity: This car is a classic, and its original Radio Motorola tube radio adds to its vintage charm and authenticity.

2. Rarity: Tube radios in cars are becoming increasingly rare, making this car a unique find.

3. Nostalgia: The sound of a tube radio can bring back memories of a bygone era, adding to the overall nostalgic experience of owning a classic car.

4. Reliability: Tube radios, when properly maintained, can be very reliable. They are simple in design and do not require electronic components that can fail.

5. Value: The retro look and classic sound of a tube radio can increase the value of the car, making it a good investment for collectors.

Cons of buying a 1962 Plymouth Valiant with a Radio Motorola tube radio:

1. Limited functionality: Tube radios do not have the same range of features as modern radios, such as FM, CD, or Bluetooth capabilities.

2. Maintenance: Tube radios require regular maintenance, such as replacing tubes and cleaning the chassis, to ensure they continue to function properly.

3. Repair cost: If the radio does break down, replacing tubes or other parts can be expensive.

4. Power consumption: Tube radios consume more power than modern radios, which can impact the car's fuel efficiency.

5. Noise: Tube radios can be louder than modern radios, which may not be suitable for those who prefer a quieter driving experience.

Conclusion:

Overall, buying a 1962 Plymouth Valiant with a Radio Motorola tube radio can be a fun and unique experience, but it is important to consider the potential drawbacks. If you are a collector or simply enjoy the nostalgia of vintage technology, this car could be a great addition to your collection. However, if you prioritize modern features, convenience, and efficiency, you may want to consider a different option.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in purchasing a 1962 Plymouth Valiant with a Radio Motorola tube radio, I recommend doing your research to ensure that the car is in good condition and that the radio is functioning properly. Consider the cost of maintenance and repair, and weigh that against the value and enjoyment you will get from owning a classic car with a unique radio. Ultimately, if you are comfortable with the potential drawbacks and are excited to own a piece of automotive history, this could be a great investment for you.

Details:

One is the power line and the other two go to the single speaker that i'm guessing was on top of the dashboard. I bench tested it and it plays very well.

I researched it and see that it was most likely made in 1962 and should fit most all Plymouth vehicles. It may fit other dodge or Chrysler cars.

It was made by Motorola. The knobs are spaced apart. It has three wires coming out of the chassis. Be sure that this is a good fit for your vehicle before buying.

There is no face plate or knobs included. Here is a Mopar type 204 automobile tube radio that is in good working condition. It pulls in channels nicely and has very good volume and tone.
