Pros:

1. Powerful Engine: The Firebird is known for its powerful engines, and this model equipped with the 42fpbk1 radio is no exception. This car is a thrill to drive due to its powerful V8 engine.

2. Classic Design: The Firebird's design is a timeless classic. Its sleek lines and muscular appearance make it a head-turner on the road.

3. Affordable: Compared to some other classic muscle cars, the Firebird is relatively affordable. This makes it an accessible option for car enthusiasts who want to own a piece of automotive history without breaking the bank.

Cons:

1. Fuel Efficiency: The Firebird is not known for its fuel efficiency. If you're looking for a car that gets good gas mileage, this is not the car for you.

Details:

It sticks out past the face where the other standard Pontiac radios do not. It should fit other years but check before buying to be sure. The face looks good the push buttons look real nice.

I see other people trying to sell other Pontiac radios saying they are for Firebird but they are not. The knobs are not original for this radio but they look good on it.

Here is a rather nice 1974 Pontiac original am radio. That is what the inner right hand knob does.

The model number is 42fpb1. This is a true Firebird radio. Look at the right hand shaft how the threaded part that bolts it in.

This is a very nice looking radio. This radio has a control for front to rear speaker. This radio came with out knobs so we put on a set that we had around.

Looking at our Delco radio service manual, it shows this radio for 1974 Pontiac Firebird.
