I do not know if radio presently plays. It is one of a few that was manufactured by Motorola for the tucker car company its torpedo. The red letters on six selection buttons are still bright and not faded or chipped can see in photos 1, The radio was an option for purchasers if desired and were sold in their box from Motorola to buyers of autos yet be made.

Slight surface scuffs in various areas of control head see photos 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, the looks to have never been opened. The buttons push in and out smoothly without sticking. The plastic buttons and knobs are not yellowed with age they still white see photos 1, 2, 9, 10, 11. Tuner knob turns smoothly moving the red indicator up and down dial.

Please refer to all photos with zoom-in mode for they are part of the. No dings, dents, cracks, or breaks on either control head tuner. The tuner did not have cables attached until time of installation in each newly produced automobile. This is a rare 6-volt tube car radio control head and tuner with cables attached.

Both pieces are clean and in good condition the radio seems to have been treated well. I have not opened it, so do know if all is complete inside. There were more of these radios manufactured than cars.

Volume control knob turns smoothly. Preston tucker, of course, anticipated continuing production more than the 51 autos they built. This radio appears to have been installed in a car at one time because the cables are attached see photos 3, 4, 6.
