Pros of buying a 1969-1970 Pontiac Firebird with a nicely restored Delco FM radio:

1. Authenticity: A Delco FM radio was originally equipped in these Firebird models, making it an authentic and period-correct upgrade.

2. Improved sound quality: A well-restored FM radio can provide better sound quality than the original, which may have degraded over time.

3. Aesthetic appeal: A nicely restored radio can enhance the overall appearance of the dashboard and add to the overall value of the car.

Cons of buying a 1969-1970 Pontiac Firebird with a restored Delco FM radio:

1. Cost: Restoring an FM radio can be a costly process, especially if the original parts are no longer available and have to be sourced from a third party.

2. Potential for damage: Restoring an FM radio requires careful disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly, which can result in damage to the radio or other components if not done properly.

3. Limited functionality: A restored FM radio will only provide FM radio functionality, whereas modern radios offer additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports, and satellite radio.

Conclusion:

If you are a classic car enthusiast who values authenticity and period-correct upgrades, a restored Delco FM radio for your 1969-1970 Pontiac Firebird can be a worthwhile investment. However, it is important to consider the cost and potential risks involved in the restoration process, as well as the limitations of a restored FM radio compared to modern alternatives.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in upgrading the radio in your 1969-1970 Pontiac Firebird, I recommend considering a modern aftermarket radio that can integrate with your existing speakers and provide additional features such as Bluetooth connectivity and USB ports. This will allow you to enjoy improved sound quality and functionality while maintaining the original appearance of your classic car.

Details:

I don't know if it was used in any other Pontiac cars such as the got, leans or grand pix. This radio works nicely. Check my other offers for some nice used and nos parts. More elsewhere.

With a little work it should clean up well. It does have the long buttons used in Firebird.

This is a very nice working Delco am fm radio for 1969 Pontiac Firebird. I got this with several other radios that had been tested years ago and left in a box under work bench. The dials and buttons work as they should. I decided to have all of them retested.
