Pros of Buying a 1968 Mercury Comet/Fairlane/Torino/Cougar/Ranchero:

1. Classic Appeal: These cars are iconic symbols of the muscle car era and are highly sought after by collectors.

2. Affordability: Compared to some other classic cars, these models can be relatively affordable, especially if you're looking for a project car.

3. Wide Variety: There are many different body styles and trim levels to choose from, so you can find one that fits your specific taste and needs.

4. Parts Availability: Due to their popularity, parts for these cars are generally easy to find, which can make maintenance and repairs less expensive.

5. Customizability: With a wide variety of aftermarket parts available, you can customize your car to your heart's content.

Cons of Buying a 1968 Mercury Comet/Fairlane/Torino/Cougar/Ranchero:

1. Repair and Maintenance Costs: While parts are relatively easy to find, the cost of repairing and maintaining these classic cars can be high due to their age and complexity.

2. Fuel Efficiency: These cars are not known for their fuel efficiency, so you can expect to spend more on gas than you would in a modern vehicle.

3. Safety Concerns: While these cars were built to safety standards of their time, they may not meet modern safety standards.

4. Reliability: Classic cars are not known for their reliability, and you may encounter unexpected issues that require expensive repairs.

5. Insurance Costs: Classic car insurance can be expensive, especially if you plan to drive the car regularly.

Conclusion:

If you're a fan of classic muscle cars and are willing to invest time and money in maintaining and customizing your vehicle, a 1968 Mercury Comet/Fairlane/Torino/Cougar/Ranchero could be a great choice. However, be prepared for high repair and maintenance costs, low fuel efficiency, and potential reliability issues. If you're looking for a daily driver or a car that requires minimal maintenance, this may not be the best option for you.

Recommendation:

If you're considering buying a 1968 Mercury Comet/Fairlane/Torino/Cougar/Ranchero, it's important to do your research and inspect the car thoroughly before making a purchase. Look for signs of rust, check the engine and transmission for any issues, and make sure the car has a clean title. It may also be helpful to join a local car club or online forum to connect with other owners who can provide advice and support. Ultimately, whether or not this car is right for you will depend on your personal preferences, budget, and lifestyle.

Details:

Hello friends. It may very well work in Torino, frailness and Ranchero as well.

Bargain starting price. It just seemed the safest way to go with most of the radios ranging from years old.

It becomes a problem for us both if you don't. A great hard to find part. Here's the thing.

Just a quick note. Pretty typical stuff found in older radios. Especially am fm of this era. Our thought was even if the radio played on the bench it might not play the following day.

So look closely before buying to make sure it is right for your application.

If you bid please pay. When we decided to offer radios we made a decision to not claim that any radio worked. We did this for a number of reasons.

And that's OK. The face looks good overall. I rate this piece a 4, in appearance, on a scale of 1/5 with 5 as the high based on age rarity and condition.

The radio has very little in the way of any really bad deterioration. Other than a little finish wear and very little of that, there are a few tiny knocks in the buttons, and very little tiny pitting in the chrome surround.

Just an overall good looking, radio that at a minimum makes a great hole filler if running a custom stereo elsewhere. Other years and model's may apply. This stuff is getting very to find.

We'd rather have that then the issues that could come from saying an electronic part works. Don't pass this deal. Thousands of parts, hundreds of vendors, and none of these.

I can tell you it's good in appearance and usually these old radios were fine, merely replaced with aftermarket radios.
