Their idea, in many instances, was to make the car Radio look and operate almost exactly like factory unit. They are nearly identical to the Ford parts. This same knob was used on the factory unit but tab just for looks. There is one wire black for Radio power dial light and a pair of wires the speaker.

Radio has been bench tested for several hours and performs very well. On the other hand, I have come across several early 60s Ford '65-'66 Mustang am FMs by ar. It was manufactured by Automatic Radio ar and designed specifically for use in the 1967 Mustang.

Please add as can be seen in the pictures this Radio is spot-on even down to look-a-like chrome push buttons. This Radio is not stereo and designed to utilize a single speaker just like the factory Bendix am fm. I have never seen an am fm for a '68-'73 Mustang.

There are no signs that it was ever installed in a car.

I have only seen one other Radio identical to this. Radio comes complete with bezel and knobs which are Automatic items not Ford. With respect to the dial light, bulb was painted green in an attempt match dash lighting of Mustang. 95 postage for secure domestic shipping.

Instead, the right rear knob is attached to an internal switch which used for changing bands. Be prepared to answer many questions regarding its origin. Anyway, the cosmetics and performance are such that this would make for a great looking, functional unit your early Mustang Shelby restoration project.

They can be distinguished by the worded l u x just above push buttons. If you are into rare and uncommon, then this is the Radio for. The main difference is lack of am fm slide bar switch.

This Radio appears to have never been used. Make sure to view all of the pictures. I have sold many Radios over the years through and try to describe them as accurately possible. Some '66 Mustangs, including Shelby's, had am Radios installed that were made by ar.

They manufactured many tabletop and console Radios along with automobile truck. One can see the tab at bottom of knob.

It doesn't provide much green to the lighting.
