Pros of buying a 1950s Motorola Volt Radio (Model 19133 553 AM):

1. Vintage appeal: The radio's classic design and mid-century modern aesthetic can add a unique and charming touch to any car, making it a standout feature.

2. Reliability: Vintage radios are often built to last, and the Motorola Volt is no exception. With proper care and maintenance, it should continue to function well for many years.

3. Nostalgia: Listening to music on an AM radio can be a fun and nostalgic experience, taking you back to a simpler time.

4. Affordability: Compared to newer in-car audio systems, vintage radios can be a cost-effective option.

Cons of buying a 1950s Motorola Volt Radio (Model 19133 553 AM):

1. Limited functionality: AM radios have a limited range and may not receive all stations, and the radio does not have any additional features such as Bluetooth or a CD player.

2. Quality of sound: While the radio's sound may be satisfactory for some, it may not be as clear or crisp as modern audio systems.

3. Installation: Installing the radio in a newer car may require some modifications, and the process can be complex if you are not familiar with working on cars.

4. Maintenance: Vintage radios may require more frequent maintenance than newer models, and replacement parts may be harder to find.

Conclusion:

If you are a fan of vintage aesthetics and enjoy the nostalgia of listening to music on an AM radio, the 1950s Motorola Volt Radio (Model 19133 553 AM) could be a great addition to your classic car. However, if you value modern technology and functionality, you may want to consider other options.

Recommendation:

If you are interested in purchasing the Motorola Volt radio, I would recommend researching the installation process and making sure you have the necessary tools and knowledge to do so. Additionally, it may be worth investing in a high-quality AM antenna to improve the radio's reception. Overall, the radio is a fun and unique option that can add character to your classic car.

Details:

I include many pictures and describe these radios as they are.

Also note that dial indicator is warped from heat, I did not try to straighten, notice high numbers are on the left, rather unique. Push buttons and presets work as the should. Radio powers up, lights plays well, all knobs, dials present, face plate is here and nice.

I love those ads that say no way to test. I test them and tell it like is. It is not here, I tested with my own speaker connected to the factory leads still there in addition a provision for external has been added.

Tuner knob moves the needle as it should. I love those listings that say no way to test that's french for it doesn't work well this has been tested and what found. Originally this model had a speaker contained in the case.

Overall a nice piece for any six volt application.
